Day 3: Big Mountain, Flathead Lake MicroBrew Tour, & Road to the Sun Drive

Sorry for the delay in posts, we have not had internet connection the last 3 days, so more posts to come!!
This is the view atop Big Mountain Ski Resort in Whitefish, MT. It was very odd to ride a ski lift up a hill with no snow...even scarier going back down!

Myself at the top of Big Mountain!

"THERE ARE NO EASY TRAILS" I found this sign comical, there were a lot of mountain bikers riding down big mountain just under the ski lift, I don't think i'd the guts or the skills to do that!

Neil in front of the CHS store in Kailspell, MT where he got to meet with one of his co-workers Mark, the location manager.

On to the Breweries.....

1st up The Great Northern Brewery and there tap room The Black Star in Whitefish, MT. Neils favorite Brew was their IPA and mine was their Huckleberry Wheat.

2nd up Tamarack Brewery in Lakeside, MT. My favorite brew was an apricot wheat called "Sip and Go Naked" and Neil enjoyed the Vanilla Bourbon Stout...pictured below!

3rd up Mission Mountain Winery in Drayton, MT...okay technically this isn't a brewery! Neil and I left with an entire case of wine!

4th up , Glacier Brewing in Polson, MT.

Our tasting flight, Neils favorite was the Oatmeal Stout and I enjoyed their IPA!

Us in front of FlatHead Lake!

5th up Flathead Lake Brewery in Big Fork, MT. This was our favorite Brewery by far. After the 3rd brewery we realized a couple Canadians were following the same tour we were, so we met up with them at Flathead Brewery!

Neil in front of the brew kettle enjoying a double IPA!

Our brew flight at Flathead!

Last but not least Whistling Andies Distillery where Neil tried some moonshine, whiskey and vodka distilled onsite!

Me at the beginning of Going to the Sun Road.
Thankfully we drove the Sun Road on our 3rd day, the following day a huge boulder fell and caused enough damage to close the road for repair.

Neil enjoying some fresh Glacier Water!

Sunset over top the Going to the Sun Road, as beautiful as it was I couldn't wait to get off that road!
